IV. Recruitment Initiatives

a. Participated in events sponsored by educational institutions relating to broadcasting careers by hosting students as job shadows. April 2015 Glenda Booy and Steve Shettler worked with a student from Oskaloosa High School allowing the student to “job shadow” in order to learn more about broadcasting as a career

b. Participated in events sponsored by educational institutions relating to broadcasting careers – Steve Shettler was invited to Sigourney High School to do a presentation for the students about his broadcasting education and fielded questions from the students and teachers about a variety of topics concerning aspects of the radio broadcasting industry.

c. Participated in events sponsored by educational institutions relating to broadcasting careers by hosting a School-to-Work student. Beginning August 2015 and on-going through the year, Glenda Lind-Booy/General Manager and Emery Songer worked with a student from Oskaloosa High School allowing the student to work at the radio station with the School-to-Work program in order to learn more about broadcasting as a career.

d. Participated in events sponsored by educational institutions relating to college students. Annual Meet and Greet for William Penn University students, August 25, 2015 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Glenda Lind-Booy/General Manager and Emery Songer had the opportunity to meet college students, introduce KBOE Radio to them, answered questions and discussed opportunities for internships and employment.
